Caravan parks and camping in Coral Bay

There are two kinds of camping around Coral Bay. In town, private caravan parks offer powered and unpowered sites, cabins and villas. Outside town, the coastal campgrounds along the Ningaloo coast are run by the state parks agency (DBCA) and are booked through its own system. The two do not share a booking process, so decide which one you want first.

Two parks are named in the sources used for this guide: Bayview, trading as Ningaloo Coral Bay, and Peoples Park Coral Bay. Both are private operators. This site is independent and has no link to either of them, to the Shire of Carnarvon or to DBCA. Rates below are the operators' published figures and can change, so confirm the price when you book.

Coral Bay camping: site rules and stay limits

The conditions that matter most when you plan a caravan or tent stay.

Camping outside parks

The Shire of Carnarvon allows camping only in registered parks and in designated camping or nature-based areas, and it names a possible on-the-spot fine of A$200 per person. Sleeping on the beach is not a standard alternative.

Water at your site

Water at a site is not automatically drinking water. Peoples Park separates fresh water for buildings and bathrooms from artesian water at the caravan sites. The artesian supply is not suitable for drinking or cooking. You can fill containers at the fresh water taps, but not vehicle tanks. The park says tanks can be filled at the fuel station on Banksia Drive. The fee there is not published.

Bayview includes a 20 litre bulk fill at check-in in the site price. After that it charges A$1 per 10 litres. Showers use artesian water. There are drinking water taps for filling containers, and powered sites have an artesian connection. Bring enough drinking water for the days you spend away from town.

Entry to the Ningaloo Marine Park is free. Camping and tours are charged separately. For coastal campgrounds further north around Exmouth and the Cape Range, see the Ningaloo reef and Exmouth guide. For the coastal camping near Coral Bay, read about Warroora Station.
