Coral Bay weather in brief

Summers are very hot and winters are mild. The climate figures below come from the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) station at Learmonth Airport, station 005007, at 22.24 degrees south and 114.10 degrees east, 5 m above sea level. Learmonth is a regional comparison station. It is not a measurement taken in Coral Bay. Treat the values as a guide to the typical season, not as a forecast.

The figures are long-term monthly averages: the mean of the daily maximum and minimum temperatures and the mean monthly rainfall. Temperature series run from 1975 to 2026 and rainfall from 1945 to 2026, with some gaps. They are not a record for 2026 alone. This site is independent and is not the Bureau of Meteorology or any official weather service.

Heat and cyclone season

DBCA gives the cyclone season as November to April and notes strong summer heat, especially from December to April. That is not a general ban on summer travel, but it affects how you plan driving, walking and time on the water. The figures show December to March maximums of 36.6 to 38.1 °C.

Cyclones can damage roads and campgrounds. Further north, DBCA reports campgrounds closed after cyclone damage in 2026. The Ningaloo guide covers the reef north of Coral Bay.

Use shade, water and sun protection in every season. October is dry, with a mean rainfall of 1.4 mm, but the mean maximum is already 33.0 °C.
